Last night was CRAZY wind. It was so windy the whole upstairs was shaking so I slept downstairs on the couch until about 3am. Around 10pm the power was flickering a bit so I figured I should light some candles. Good thing I did because about 10:30 the power went out and was out for close to an hour. When you turn the TV up loud, the wind doesn't seem so loud and you can kinda tune out the crashing of the tree limbs against the window. But when the power is out, everything in the house is silent, and the crashing is super loud. I am glad I am such a candle collector, I had lit 19 candles of various fragrance and lit up the living room pretty well. As soon as I started reading a book the lights came back on.
Today the wind was still crazy. I walked out the front door to find my trashcan blown across the yard, and the swing was knocked over. I needed to get to town but was worried the roads may be too muddy, but I toughed it out and made it through just fine. While in town I visited Walmart (an almost mandatory stop when you're in Williston) and went to see Letters To Juliet (Loved it!) When the movie was over there was a bit of a sprinkle coming from the sky but the wind had stopped and made for a gorgeous evening. I was able to walk down to the creek which was flowing pretty fast and got some pictures. I also took some sunset pictures from my cell phone. I don't mind a quick storm every now and then, but I like having electricity- and I don't like wind!
